This phenomenon was discovered while testing coffee brewing with belkafilter with CEO Park Sang-hwa. We took a reference extraction based on taste and intentionally induced channeling. We tilted the tamper slightly. However, both channeling tests came out at exactly the same time and in the same amount. The coffee even came out both sides of the spout at the same time in the second channeling test. However, the brew logs showed a very violent, continuous shaking.
Same time, same amount, simultaneous flow on both sides of the spout. What about the TDS? Measured with a VST refractometer, it was 1.2% lower than baseline on the first channeling induction, and 3% lower on the second brew!
